Lower Makefield Township Parks and Recreation Hosts Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz Events in September
Yardley, PA – August 26, 2026 - Join Lower Makefield Township Parks and Recreation and parks throughout the country in a fun challenge to see how many pollinator species can be documented this September during the Parks for Pollinator’s BioBlitz!
LMT survey sites this year include the Five Mile Woods Preserve (located at 1305 Big Oak Rd., Yardley, PA, 19067) and the Native Plant Demonstration Garden (located adjacent to the Township Bldg., 1100 Edgewood Rd., Yardley, PA, 19067).
It is easy to participate by joining a formally scheduled event or by simply making observations on your own using the iNaturalist app. With the iNaturalist app, you simply take a picture of a pollinator (e.g., bee, butterfly, beetle, etc.) or plant, and the app and online community will help identify the species. You can participate by exploring the nature and wildlife in Lower Makefield Township’s Five Mile Woods Preserve or at the Native Plants Display Garden. Any observation you enter in iNaturalist during September will automatically count towards our Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz event. Contact fivemilewoods@lmt.org with questions.

The Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz is organized by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA).
