Veterans Parade and Ceremony Flyer

YARDLEY, PA – Lower Makefield Township is proud to host a day of events honoring the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

On Saturday, November 9th at 1:00 PM (rain or shine), the Township will hold its 18th Annual Veterans Parade and Commemorative Ceremony along Edgewood Road, culminating at the Veterans Square Monument. This year’s celebration also marks the 10th Anniversary of the Veterans Square Monument. The parade, led by a Lower Makefield Township police cruiser, will feature American Legion and VFW organizations, military vehicles, fire trucks from local companies, music by the Pennsbury Marching Band (the Long Orange Line), scout troops, floats, horses, and more.

A special highlight this year will be a C-17 Globemaster III flyover from the 732d Airlift Squadron, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ, scheduled around 2:00 p.m., just before the ceremony at Veterans Square.

The commemorative ceremony will honor the 2024 Parade Marshal, John Hughes, and celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Veterans Square Monument. Musical performances will feature the Pennsbury Community Choir and the Pennsbury Marching Band. Throughout the day, hospitality tables at Veterans Square will offer information from various organizations, including the Veterans Multi-Service Center, Bucks County Veterans Affairs, Pennsbury Education Association, Bucks County Veteran Center, and the Veterans Square Foundation.

In addition, the Pennsbury Education Association, in partnership with Lower Makefield Township Parks & Recreation, will be collecting supplies for homeless veterans. Attendees are encouraged to bring items listed on www.lmt.org to benefit homeless veterans through The Perimeter Program of the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service Center (www.vmcenter.org). Sending a donation can also be made via QR code, available on the Township’s website.
