At their meeting on Wednesday, June 19th, the Lower Makefield Township Board of Supervisors enacted an Anti-Discrimination Ordinance, which prohibits discrimination in housing, employment, public accommodations, and access to educational institutions. Additionally, the Ordinance establishes the Lower Makefield Township Human Relations Commission. The Human Relations Commission shall consist of five (5) voting members, who shall serve overlapping terms of three (3) years. Members are required to be residents of the Township or individuals who work full-time within the Township. The Commission shall also have one (1) nonvoting student member, who shall be between the ages of 15 and 18 years old, shall be a resident of the Township, and actively attending an accredited high school program and shall be a freshman, sophomore, or junior in such high school program. The student member shall serve for a term of one (1) year. Individuals interested in being considered for appointment to the Human Relations Commission should submit a letter of interest and resume to admin@lmt.org.
