Lower Makefield Township
Launches New Digital Community
Engagement Site for Resident Input
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP — Lower Makefield Township is launching a new digital community engagement site to inform and engage residents about upcoming plans and initiatives and shape them with the community through collaborative conversations.
Through Zencity Engage, Lower Makefield can create engagement sites for local projects, upload supporting information, and invite residents and stakeholders to give input using interactive, participatory tools. The site will enable the Township to incorporate more voices in the planning of and execution of priority initiatives to improve local services and the overall quality of life.
This is the latest effort to improve how the Township connects with residents on all topics, including planning, stormwater management, and overall quality of life.
“Zencity lowers barriers for residents and stakeholders to participate and enables us to create inclusive and collaborative digital spaces to help us better serve our residents and measure our performance,” said Township Manager David Kratzer.
It is a community input platform used by local governments of various sizes throughout the country to hear from more interested parties and get meaningful and actionable insights. The platform will enable the Township to receive proactive feedback from residents and stakeholders through the engagement site and surveys. In addition, Zencity will help The Township understand the feedback residents are already voicing about the issues that matter to them the most—whether on publicly available social media channels, comments on traditional news sources, or through official channels. Township officials plan to use this information to help staff and the Board of Supervisors stay on top of emerging local issues; better understand the challenges and priorities of those less likely to participate in traditional civic forums; and meaningfully contribute to the local conversation with timely and informative communications.
The new community engagement site will inform and gather feedback in up to 27 languages and make it easier for residents to participate—on their own time, from wherever is convenient.
